Note: SuperBowl50 is now a month behind us, but so is the legendary 18-year career of Denver Bronco (formerly Indianapolis Colts) QB Peyton Manning. As expected the February 7, 2016 match between Denver and Carolina turned out to be Peyton's final NFL game. The exclamation point on his storied career as an NFL passer, Peyton's SB50 win was secured, not because of his sterling play on this date, but because of a vaunted team defense when the Broncos beat the Panthers 24-10, resulting in claims by many that the Broncos showcased one of the most prolific defenses in NFL Super Bowl history.
▶ TRANSFORMER Peyton Manning, on the eve of his announced retirement, is trending on TWITTER, Facebook, Google, and BING, not to mention all of the other social media sites. Despite all of his accomplishments as an NFL legend of our time, Manning was regarded as a consummate pitchman for a variety of products and causes, both profitable and nonprofit. At the end of his playing career, he was reported to earn around $12 million in product endorsements alone. And he was always a media darling where he demonstrated a self-depricating Southern charm, as caught in the video above.
