Flip2▶ Game★WORTH ▶ Six losses won't affect KU as #1 seed in tournament

Now as we approach the March 16 "Selection Sunday,"
these five teams appear in solid contention for
the #1 spots in the 2014 March Madness Tournament
The only team in in the current Top 5 ranking with 6 season losses, the #Kansas Jayhawks (22-6, 13-2 Big 12) may rise even higher before March Madness.

Winner of eight of their last ten games, their last loss was a narrow three-point defeat (82-85) at the hands of state rival Kansas State on the road.  Earlier, on Jan. 76, the Jayhakws beat K-State in a home court blowout, 86.60.

The KU season reflects more about the high caliber of play in the Big 12 this year than about their own BPI  89.5 or their national ranking.

Last Game Summary  LAWRENCE, Kan.  According to source : "Naadir Tharpe finally got to stand in the middle of the court at Allen Fieldhouse, bask in the adulation of another sellout crowd and celebrate a conference championship. The junior guard, who wrapped up his first two Big 12 titles on the road, had 19 points to lead five Kansas players in double figures Monday night, and the fifth-ranked Jayhawks held off Oklahoma 83-75 to ensure a share of their 10th consecutive league crown."
